Just a reminder that we need to try and keep our signatures to a minimum.

Keep in mind the size of the object and also try to keep what you add to a minimum of 1 thing if it is a photo or other large item.

Removing HTML from signatures has been discussed, which means members wouldn't be able to add tickers and other things such as these but we don't think people over do it as a whole however, if the privledge gets abused then HTML in signatures may be removed as well and then members will only be able to add plain text.

Just use your best judgement and if you have any doubts, then it's probably too big...but if you insist you can ask me or one of the other moderators .
Thanks!

Sounds good Morgan. I do hate the sigs that take a whole page to scroll through. If someone with a large sig. posts multiple posts in a thread it just takes over the whole thread.

... so a 5048x8021 pic of cake would probably be over-doing it for my sig, huh.

I think she's referring to large photos that are attached as signatures

Tickers are specifically pointed out & thats why I took the one off for mine & Jens wedding. I figured if I took everything off in a clean sweep there wont be amy problems at all.

Tickers were only mentioned in passing in as much as they would be lost if html is taken away as a result of overlarge photos, links, etc., in one's signature line. There is no need for anyone at this time to remove a basic ticker.

No, Gary, reread what Morgan wrote  I think she is saying if we continue to abuse by putting up large photos, large html's etc than we could lose the everything including tickers:

Removing HTML from signatures has been discussed, which means members wouldn't be able to add tickers and other things such as these but we don't think people over do it as a whole however, if the privledge gets abused then HTML in signatures may be removed as well and then members will only be able to add plain text.

see -- people "WOULDN'T" be able to use them - instead of ARE NOT allowed to use them

Am I right on this Morgan?  I'm fairly sure tickers and small html's are okay -- just the large stuff needs to go.

Is there a way to set a size limit on our signatures, like there is a size limit for avatars? My ticker will be gone after July 23 and I don't have any plans after that, so no other ticker for a while.

Wow!  Are you serious?

How on earth did my request of "keep what you add to a minimum of 1 thing if it is a photo or other large item" turn into "remove everything from your signature including tickers"??

I thought my request was pretty clear.  And yes tickers were specifically brought up as in if people abuse being able to use HTML then we won't be able to add tickers...meaning I like the tickers and don't want that taken away.

If there was any confusion, please just ask me instead of removing everything and then asking if that is okay....that really isn't necessary...nor is that what I was hoping to accomplish.

I'm sorry if my request sounded rude to anyone...I thought I asked fairly nicely.

I was joking when I said the members who responded had signatures that were 'over the top'.  I didn't know I would be taken so literal.  That's why I laughed and added the little smileys.

My apologies again.

If there is anymore confusion just let me know!

PS. I LIKE the tickers and don't want anyone to remove them!

Morgan -- I think your request was fairly clear that is why I copied it over in my post and ask that it be reread. Perhaps if someone skimmed it, they might not have understood -- but there was nothing wrong or unclear in your request. No apology needed, IMO.

seems there are problems or the matter woud not have been raised to begin with

my decision to remove everything was as I stated, so it "cannot" be a problem

it is really becoming less enjoyable to even be here at all

hahahaha, Gary, you must be getting pre-wedding jetters or something. Tickers were NOT mentioned except as NOT wanting to get to the point of having to remove them. Put the "pottymouth" wedding ticker back up there so we can all count down to yours and Jen's special day for cryin' out loud!

Thanks Morgan- I think your comment was clear and I felt no urgency to remove a ticker. Ok, I don't have one right now but ya know.
