The place that I take Remington to for Obedience is having a dog version of Biggest Looser.  Well here is his measurements.  14" tall, 17" girth, 18" waist, and he weight is 18lbs!  Well that was when the trainer was holding him on the scale.  I can't see him gaining two pounds in a week when I was sick.

There are 3 of us participating.  4 already dropped out before the start.  One guy with Dakota a golden retriever (113 lbs).  We figured his problem is feeding his dog McDonald's, and Subway Clubs!  Then my sister (actually best firend but we call each other sis) is entering her female golden retriever Maxie (103 lbs).  We figure if the guy cuts out all the fast food his dog will loose weight.  With Maxie we think just more exercise.  The vet that was there said none of his rawhides.  As far as treats any veggies or fruit except onion, grapes, raisins, and avacados.  But I'm also going to put him back on Nature's Variety Raw.  His did great on that.

My friend and I are going to Petsmart to get the freeze dried Liver treats and I need to go to Pets Suplies Plus for the frozen raw food.  The vet loved Teddy and said that Rat Terriers are one of her favorite breeds.  They are so good with the whole family.  And I told her how he was since I just got out of the hospital.  She said that was great.

All participates get a prize but the grand prize is a $200 VET CREDIT!!!!!

I was gonna say go raw - nothing tightens a dog into lean mean muscle faster than a raw diet. It always amazes me how fit they end up without an increase in exercize just by going raw. Good luck!

Thanks. Plus Nature's Variety gave me a coupon for buy one package get one free so there is a month of food for the price of one. They're only about $9 a bag which is cheaper than the diet vet food! And I can get the raw soup bones at Giant Eagle for $1.65 for a 3 pack. My goal is eventually get all my dogs onto a raw diet. My trainer for Remi feeds a raw diet to her 5 dogs. She feeds them buffalo, elk, pheasant. She gets it at a local restarant.

Tabitha, how much is Teddy supposed to eat daily of the raw? Jack is about that size and I am trying to figure out cost.
