A friend of mine, who's son is at Chalenge Academy right now, wrote this.  Thought you would all like to read it

As I prepared for this day, I realized that I couldn't put into words just what it really means to be a mother.
Mothers are incredible!  They have innate abilities to spot, feel, sense, smell danger, trouble, and lies.
They are wonderful chauffers, councelors, and investigators.
They have a wide variety of accessories in their bags or toolbelts, that they use often to get their point across.
Am I making myself clear?
Mothers are multi-taskers: who else can do the laundry, make dinner, help a toddler put a puzzle together, and all this while hosting a garage sale?  Tah Dah Mom!
Mothers are artists too, creativity is a must in every aspect, from cooking, to cleaning, to making things  just right mostly all of the time.
I am told that; no matter what your relationship is with her, you'll miss your mother when she is gone.
Whether she works in the home, or away from home, all mothers are working mothers..................always remember that Cardinal Rule!
Mothers speak a different vocabulary too, have you ever noticed that?  "Where you born in a barn?"   "Shut that frig door, we're not showing a movie in there!"  "Did you wash your hands?" and  "Call me when you get there, so I know that you made it, okay?"   "Awe mom, we just live across town, okay, okay, we'll call, we'll call."
Moms are very expressive, every mother has a look perfected that even the dog recognizes, and hangs his head when she flashes it.
Whether your mom is softspoken, or screams, and hollars, there's no one that will ever take her place.
Today, I think about all of the different mothering styles, and I am amazed, sometimes confused, dazzled, and at times even critical, and questioning, but as a mother myself, I stand before you today and celebrate mothers!
I know too, that there are mothers today who do not feel much like celebrating for too many reasons to get into.  May God wrap His arms around them extra tightly today, and blanket them with his light, love and peace.
We can all learn from each other's trials, errors, successes, and journeys.  May God give all of us the unconditional love, and strength to help, support, and love all mothers no matter what.
Happy Mother's Day!

michelle, mom to Sydney (JRT), Sonic (Rattie) and Proud mom to Army son, Jordan
