last time soem one pulled that " called your competitors and gave them the next job" shyt on me i folded up my rig and left ............they werent too happy about being left with 1200 cu/yds of concrete and no BOOM PUMP to place it
they promptly called back and begged my boss to send me back, they are regular customers that cater to us now, full contract for ALL thier jobs. i dont mess with attitudes or ppl thinking they have the upper hand, we are all EQUALS trying to get to the same outcome , the more we comunicate the more we get done.
besides they pay $250 an hour $5per cu/yd pumped $75 slurry fee and 18% fuel surcharge and thats CHEAP, i get paid by the hour and have my own pace regardless of what a contractor /owner says

haha nah im not the owner, i own a portion of the company ( large enough to call some shots) and im GOOD at what i do ( one of few putz/schwing certified operators in the US)
you did what you had to do and it WORKS , i applaud you, but if it where ME i would have folded up and LEFT.
and you are right we are NOT the only company nor the LARGEST but we do have the LARGEST concrete boom pumps around and if some one wants to pay the same price for a SMALLER pump to take 2-3X longer to do the job moving around MANY times then so be it , its thier money and thier time.
i am in NO way an a-hole, but if im given attitude i will throw it back at whomever gave it to me. im there to do MY job, if they dont like me SO WHAT, we provide a service not a friendship. although friendships net more jobs and a bigger bottom line. i think we do OK tho, we currently have the contracts on the I-485 jobs, light rail job , and 90% of the downtown charlotte high rises going up not to mention we do ALOT of residential work. 
but this is all off topic and reading back it seems as if im trying to down play what you accomplished and im not, you did what alot of bosses do , get ppl off thier a$$es and WORK. more power to you !! alot of women feel out of place on the job sites. |

Why, thank you, Richie. I want my husband to trust me with our business and come home to jobs WELL done. I did accomplish something today and I am proud of that.
Sometimes we get too comfy and forget who signs the paychecks. I was VERY nice but I did make my point. I am also the type of person that will be respectful in all situations. This one in particular. 
How is the light rail project coming along, btw?? I've heard the contract was null and void and the city was losing tons of money on a project that wouldn't even get finished. My son is dying to ride the rail... hope it can get finished soon. |

Technically we are ESE of Raleigh if you look on the map, but I40 is an East-West interstate. Greenville is on 264 which is north of I40. We are about an 1-1 1/2 hrs from Greenville.
