I posted this right before I left town, and now have no idea if anyone saw it, so will post again. Errica asked to be reliefed of her Contest Girl duties, as she is just too busy right now, so "tag" - I'm it. I had asked for ideas and suggestions for contests. Please post any thoughts you may have here. I'm sorry if you already posted some ideas, but I guess they are lost on the other site and since I was away didn't get to see them. I had one thought -- since we've done lots of photo/graphics contests, how about a writing contest. I had some thoughts on something like a slogan contest (like you would see on a bumper sticker or t-shirt), or maybe "Definition of a Rattie" or "Why I Love My Rattie". These would stay short -- maybe 50 words or so (????). What are y'all's thoughts on this? And what other ideas do you have? We will see how things go with getting the new site up and running, but I think it might be May before our first contest. This will give y'all time to make suggestions and me to get it together. Lots of y'all will be gone at the end of the month, and I will be having my sinus surgery, so maybe the first of May we can start our next contest. I agreed to manage these contests, but they can't be done without suggestions and input from all of y'all. We have a bunch of creative people on this site, so I know that there have to be some good ideas out there. Please respond with your ideas about the above suggestions and any ideas you may have for a contest on this thread and let's pull something together! Thanks, Jan

I like the slogan contest best. Definition of a rattie is good too but it reminds me a lot of "you might be a rat terrier if..." I'm not much of a thinker but I'll try to think of some more contest! ;-)

JAN, I love this idea! I saw this before the old site crashed and have been thinking about it.. I love the slogan idea. I love the idea of doing something really funny...we do not lack for comedians on here! :P Where should we send our slogans? I don't see an PM area anymore..email?? Let me know! :)

I've never had a "way with words" myself, but I will sure enjoy any contests you put together! I know you'll do a great job with all of them! :)

Let me know! :)[/quote] Well, everyone seems to like the slogan idea! When we are ready to start the contest, Shannon, there will be a thread for entering. Put your thinking cap on for now -- I think we will wait until May to have this contest to give time to getting the site back up and running normally. Plus, everyone will be back from Nora's, I'll be over my surgery and we can get started. So, just watch for the announcement. There will be a link under the banner and you can click on that for info. Maybe the winning slogan can be featured in a banner!
