Why do I not listen to my friends. An old friend stopped by that recently moved back to my hometown. He mentions when he leaves to watch 193 because "they are targeting that all weekend". So what do I do when I leave? Go down 193 and get stopped by a deputy sheriff for 70 in a 55 zone. Plus when he pulled over right behind him was a state trooper so I probably would have got stopped either way. To make matters worse my coworker calls me while I'm waiting for him to write the ticket. Then when I get home mom calls me and says "How much?" I forgot my parents have a police scanner. She offered to pay the $90 fine since she payed some of my brothers' tickets when they got some. I called my boss and he says that the sheriffs office has a policy that "No matter who you are you get a ticket when stopped" Plus he said "Count all those times that you got warnings or didn't get stopped when you were speeding" He was right it was fare that I finally got caught.
I called hubby when I got home and told him. First thing out of his mouth is "I'm not paying it". The last ticket I got was 6 years ago and it was $250 so this was a cheep one. |

Ouch. Tabitha, that stinks :( They just did our county a couple of weekends ago. Every county in Ohio is taking turns at having a massive showing of police, pulling over everyone for any reason they can find, doing drug searches, DUI searches, and handing out tickets for speeding, seat belts, burnt out lights, etc.... I had to really behave myself for a couple of days with the speeding thing :) |

Maybe invest in a Radar/Laser detector?

| That stinks. I haven't gotten at ticket for 6 years. Kind of surprised too. Especially with my trips home where I have speed past so many cops and was just waiting to see them behind me with lights flashing. |

If you get busted with one of those here, the fine is about $1,000 and you go to jail.

| OUCH! Maybe I should invest in radar. But usually if it doesn't work and they see it they always give a ticket. And in some states its illeagal. |

OUCH! I guess that was your clue to slow down, huh? In my town, it's so bad that they have cops standing at busy intersections and will point at you to pull over if you happen to drive by without your seatbelt on---instant $25 fine, and it goes UP from there if you mouth off to the cop about it! |

Ouch! I got two within 3 months of each other once. Big no-no. I ended up going to traffic school to keep the second one off my record -- now that was a lot of fun! |

That stinks. I've never got a ticket - *knock on wood* - but my little sister had so many at one point that they were threatening to take her license away. Needless to say - she's a MUCH safer and SLOWER driver now. |

| It will be 2 points on my license. My last ticket was in 2000-2001. You get a warning letter at 6 points and suspension at 12. Plus today I added a performance chip to it. Big jump in horsepower. We will see if I get better gas mileage. But I'm very careful. |

Here in Florida, if you take a driving class there are no points & no record to go against your insurance.

I went' and paid my fine. It was $90 and two points on my license. The points will come off in two years. I took the performance chip out of my car. I had plenty of extra horsepower but lousy gas mileage and can't afford another ticket. |
