WHERE would a red-eared  slider hide if he managed to somehow get out of his water tank?????

I heard a weird noise just a minute ago and went to check it out, and saw that the water level was a little low in his tank so I poured a couple bottles of Dasani water in it to raise the level so that the filter wouldn't suck air, and I didnt see the turtle anywhere.  I moved his floating dock out because sometimes he tries to hide under it (he's huge, though) and he's not in the tank anywhere!  I looked around, under and behind everything in the house, and I cant find him.  He's bigger than the entire palm of my hand---fingers included, so it's not like he can hide too many places-----I have to go tell Barb that her turtle is missing-----uh oh.

HELP  , JULES!

at this point you might be looking for an empty shell, if your ratties decided they found a new toy!

Never mind----I found him.  His tank sits on a book case in front of a window, and he somehow managed to get up on the floating dock and stand up and jump out---I'm guessing that's how he got out.  Anyway, he was lying in the window sill, at the opposite end from where his tank is, behind the curtain.

I was SO hoping that when I went to the bathroom and lifted the lid that I wouldn't see his head popping up out of the toilet bowl!

ALL CLEAR, Pami---he's back in the water now!

This was like an episode of Prison Break! I'm glad the escapee has been found and reincarcerated.

Oh good to hear Paul! I just got home lol Yeah my dad lost two of his albino sliders last year and still has not found them. he was pretty mad about that. I doubt the dogs could hurt him, those sliders are MEAN. Ours used to try to bite the cats and our fingers, ya MEAN. Water turtles do move fast. I have been turtles races and sliders always win. We have a trophy from one year when ours won. Then he ran away the next yr 2 days before the next race UGH!
