In today's criminal world, a well-trained canine companion is a great asset.  I'm not really familiar with all that goes into training a police dog, but I do know that Shutzhund training can be a life saving thing to K-9 patrol team.

On another board I frequent, on lady has Shutzhunds(they look like black long haired GSD's).  She recently added a new puppy and we've been enjoying her "training" tips.  Someone found this video on YouTube and posted it as "Viscious Shutzhund Training Video".  I really enjoyed it and someone even made comment that the dog reminded them of Amos.

This is very cute and fun to watch...
They have the dog listed as a jack russel. He passed August 2007, didn't know if you noticed
at the end of the clip.

Wow that is a well trained dog!! Enjoyed the video the dog really seemed to enjoy the whole thing!!!

There is seldom a dog more highly and precisely trained than a Schutzhund titled dog. These are the dogs that become police dogs... bomb dogs.... drug dogs....home/business protection dogs.... and it's where my training started 12 years ago. These dogs, although with temperments that are usually hardcore... are trained so highly that a bird can fly on top of one's head and the dog won't move unless commanded to do so. If you have never seen one work... you should make the opportunity sometime. It's something you will never forget.
