When we walk, Amos is always running ahead, nose high in the air sniffing all the wonderful scents. He stops along the trail and sniffs into the thick brush, but generally stays to the open path. He has run off deep in the brush and flushed quail and doves and a deer or two. I feel like he's a pretty lucky dog to get to do this almost every day.
Sorry it's a little fuzzy.

He is one lucky dog to be able to roam all over like that. Can I send Blue down there to roam with him? hehe- It's probably a good way to get rid of all of the "extra" energy they have, huh? |

Dear Auntie Kim,
That Amos is such a handsome boy! And like all good southern men, he loves to hunt! As you may have seen, I am doing an article about hunting in next month’s magazine. Though mostly this is about camo fashion (after all, fashion is my area of expertise) I would love to feature a photo of Amos in one of his hunt poses. Could you furnish a still photo to my mother for use?
Thank you so much. Give my love to Amos. (Oh, and if he has any camo gear, collar, harness, etc, that he could wear for the photo that would be even better, but it is not necessary. The article will be a mixture of fashion and hunting pictures!)
Love,
K.S. |

| I just LOVE Amos' tail! I'll bet you & your husband could easily train him to hunt deer, Kim. Does your husband go deer hunting and take him along? |

Dear Katie Scarlett! I am just seeing this response and will get on that hunting photo thing IMMEDIATELY! Heaven's she's gonna think I don't want her to feature my baby in her magazine! Peggy, In the county that I live in, it is illegal to hunt deer with dogs. I believe it is permissable in the southern counties of GA. Most folks hunt 'coons around here with dogs. I don't wanna chance Amos with a 'coon. Hubby will be hunting this year for the first time since his back injury. He will be hunting from a blind on the ground which he's gonna have set up in two different areas of our property. We have let other folks hunt our land the last several years. Last year 2 bucks were taken, but the year before that 1 hunter got a total of 7 off our property. Not on the same day. This guy doesn't hunt just for sport. He uses the meat for his family. The year he got 7, he shared with several other families. I don't care for deer meat much myself. |

Gee, my Dad used his beagles and my Uncle his coon dogs on every hunting trip they ever went on. Didn't know you couldn't use dogs with in-season deer hunting anyplace. Ya learn something everyday. |
