Thursday, I stopped and got a small watermelon from a friend. I brought it in through the garage and left it on the top step until I could get inside, put away my other things, then I came back and rolled the melon into the kitchen area of our kitchen/dining area.
As we were eating supper, I heard growling. I looked over and to my right in the hallway area was Taffy staring intently in my direction but more under my chair and she was growling deep in her throat; her, you are dangerous and I have to protect myself and my family growl.
I had no idea what I might spy when I turned to look left of my chair. I slowly turned and there it was. On the cold vinyl floor, that evil, vile, mean ole Watermelon!!! I pushed my chair back and reached over to thump the melon and Tabby jumped back.
I got up and went and got my camera and waited to see what would happen and if I could catch it on video. Here are two segments. In the second, Taffy barks at the melon under her breath and that sets Aka off, which in turn scares Taffy silly. We still haven't cut the melon that will be tomrrow, but we put the melon up in a dining room chair and that seemed to help calm Taffy down.
I was finally able to get her to come over to it today and she did sniff it. I can't wait to see what she does when we cut it.

| We have a lady who helps me with the heavy duty cleaning and she came yesterday and put the melon up in a dining room chair. Now Taffy is fine with it. I have no idea what her first problem was, we will cut it tomorrow so that should be a hoot! |

Both of my pups can do some of the funniest things and at the oddest times!
Now that the melon is on the chair, Taffy is fine with it, but Aka doesn't like it up there. What a pair!! |

Hi Peggy, In the video he does look bigger than her and he might be a bit taller but they are really about the same size. But they crack me up by being polar opposites in terms of morning and night. In the morning, Aka wants to sleep in and Taffy is up, full of vim, vinegar and ready to knock Aka on his little rattie butt! BUT at night, she is ready for bed at around 9 PM which is just when Aka is getting good and started.
She will get up in a chair or on the couch and then he will come to me as if to say, "make her play with me!"
However, this morning at 3:00 AM they BOTH woke up for a 15 minute bout of bitey face, knock each other on their butts while still in bed with Momma! It was a wild night! |

| Those are hysterical! What a pair of cuties you have. Love the way Aka runs past twice in the first video with his head cocked sideways. And Taffy is a real trip....maybe she's never seen a watermelon before? She's such a pretty little girl. |
