If you want to really give your Rattie a "special treat", make these yourself!  I use a bone-shaped cookie cutter.
My dogs think I'm the BEST!

2 cups whole wheat flour
1 Tbsp baking soda
1 cup peanut butter
1 cup skim milk

Preheat oven to 375 degrees.

In a bowl, combine flour and baking powder.  In another bowl, mix peanut butter and milk.

Add wet mixture to dry, and mix well.

Turn out dough on a lightly floured surface and knead.  Roll out to 1/4 inch thick and cut w/ cookie cutter.

Place on a greased baking sheet and bake for 15 minutes or until lightly brown.  Cool.  Store in an airtight container.

* I sometimes make them a little thicker, or under bake them by 2 - 3 minutes so they arent as crunchy.  Gives Dar & Lucy a little variety w/ some hard & crunchy and some soft and chewy.

yeah and the airtight container IS important. I put some in some zip lock bags last Christmas and they molded on me before I had a chance to give them as presents. The dogs that I did give them to LOVED them tho. Thanks Paulie Ray.

Don't know---I just always used the whole wheat flour.  I'm not into "cooking experiments" much.

Great recipe, I made something similar to this but the biscuts had to "dry" in the oven as it was cooling down for a couple hours. I am going to try this recipe out.

I have one for pizza-flavored ones, too, but I need to look for it at home.  I'm gonna be making a bunch of these peanut-butter ones this weekend.  It's so easy to do!

I would eat those!    I only took 2 home for Max but he LOVED them.  They were easy for him to eat.   No too hard.  Baked to perfection!

Paul brought the girls some of these bones to the housewarming party, and Sassy and Punkin will nearly chew your arm off at the elbow to get them out of my hand...

Big hit with the girls!!

I made these last night for Mic and he LOVED them!! After he was done eating it he would scratch and dig his nose into the carpet to try and get every last crumb I made some a little thicker like you said you do Paul, and they turned out perfect! Like little soft cookies!

My question though is can you freeze them? Will they thaw good? They just made so many that I don't want them to go bad before I can give them all to Mic... I have them in a tupperware container now, but how long can they last like that? I just don't want to see the look on Mic's face if I have to throw them out! (he'll give me the evil eye!)
