Does anyone have a great way to cook asparagus?  I love it, but I don't know how to cook it right without it being mushy.  I like it crisp.  Anyone a good asparagus cook?

Oh, I love asparagus. The best way to cook it is to toss it in olive oil, fresh garlic, salt and cracked pepper. Then spread it in a pan. Do not stack it. Roast it in the oven on about 375 until it is fork tender. Use a higher temperature for crisper asparagus.

Ohh, I love it on the grill. Can't wait til the asparagus starts coming up. We have four rows of it cause we love it on the grill. But our weather has been crappy so we didn't have any for Easter. Hopefully soon the weather will catch up with the calendar and we will have some soon.

Grilling is a way I have done it in the past.

But I like to blanch it and then throw it in ice water to stop the cooking, drain,  then throw it in a tuperware (long and thin type) I marinate it in Bernstiens Cheese Fantastico salad dressing for atleast an hour long if you have time. Then right befor eyou serve it you can sprinkle real bacon bits on top.

My husband east it like candy.

I you want to just steam it , it will be crunchy, tender and sweet - just snap off the bottom woody part, find the biggest shallowest frying pan, put in water just to cover the bottom, and a dash of salt to keep the color , cook 10 minutes a pound, butter optional
