It has to be non-alcoholic because I'm taking it to work.  We're having our November/December birthday party this Wednesday.  The theme is Winter Wonderland and I'm supposed to bring the hot apple cider or wassail.  I've seen people make this in a crockpot before.

I have a yummy recipe!

Red Hot Cinnamon Cider
3 Cups Apple Cider
1 Cup Apple Juice
1/4 Cup Cinnamon Red Hot Candies

Simmer in a pot on stove till candies melt.

Im sure in a crock pot would be just as easy!!!

Non-Alcoholic Wassail

1 gallon Michigan apple cider
20 oz. Michigan cranberry juice
8 2-inch cinnamon sticks
6 whole cloves
2 tablespoons whole allspice
1 orange

In a large pot or crock pot, add cider, cranberry juice and spices. Cut orange in half, squeeze the juice and add to pot along with the orange halves. Heat through and serve.

OR here's another version:

Ingredients:
5 quarts Apple cider
1 1/4 cups Brown sugar
7 1/2 ounces lemonade, frozen concentrate
7 1/2 ounces orange juice, frozen concentrate
7 1/2 Whole cloves and allspice
1 1/4 tablespoons Ground nutmeg
24 Cinnamon sticks

Directions:
Put cider, sugar and fruit juices (undiluted) in large pot. Tie cloves and allspice in cheesecloth. Add to cider with nutmeg. Cover and simmer for 30 min. Remove spice bag. Serve hot in mugs with cinnamon stick in each mug.

I haven't decided yet. Your recipe sounds the easiest to make. When you said you put a little Gala apple in it, do you mean apple slices or diced apple or what?

I added a slice of Gala apple to my mug of cider... then ate it after I drank it all!!! You could have it available as a garnish or... not!

Here is what I use....you can do it on the stovetop or in a crockpot. I've done it either way:

1 tsp whole allspice
1 tsp whole cloves
2 cinnamon sticks

1 64 oz. apple cider (in juice aisle at grocery)

I use a coffee filter and tie up my spices that way they come out easier...prior to serving.....

Simmer on low for several hours

Crockpot works great....we've used this at our neighborhood block party for new years eve......
