Theese are SOOOOOO yummy! The Maple vermont cookies can be made in one day!

Here is what you will need!

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

1/4 cup shortening

1/4 cup butter

1 1/2 Cups packed brown sugar

2 eggs

1 cup sour cream

1 TSP. Maple Flavoring

2 3/4 cups flour

1/2 TSP Baking Soda

1 TSP Salt

1 cup chopped pecans

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Mix Shortening, butter, sugar and eggs.

In Seperate bowl, mix flour, salt and Baking soda together.

Slowly add to WET ingredients

Then add nuts

Chill dough till soft

Heat oven to 375

Drop by rounded TABLESPOONS of dough onto a greased cookie sheet.

Bake about ten min. or until no imprint remains when touched.

MAPLE VERMONT COOKIE ICING

2 cups powdered sugar

1/3 cup butter

1 1/2 tsp. maple flavoring

1 1/2 tbl milk

Directions: Mix well, and pour amounts over cokkies and let dry until an outer crust on icing forms!

Theese cookies are really good! My Grandma made tons of theese between Thanksgiving & Christmas !

Oh, and the icing dries quickly, so you don't have to wait long!

Oh, and when you store them, make sure to put a piese of parchment paper betwqeen each layer of cookies!
