I so can't wait.  Bought tickets day before yesterday for the first (12:05 am) showing next Wednesday, at our local theatre.  Whole family is going.  Even hubby (who thinks we are kinda nuts to do this).

When the 7th, and final  book comes out we're going to Border's at midnight too (I've had it reserved for about 6 months now!)    Anybody else a huge fan?

VIVA LA POTTER!

I probably won't go to the midnight showing of the movie. For the simple fact that the movies don't hold a match to the books. I will be there at midnight to get my book though. My fiancee thinks i'm crazy to do this, but these books are AMAZING. at 21, I have grown up along side Harry, Ron and Hermione. I was 11 when the first book came out. Seems funny that I've aged faster than they have.

Lol, bethann! I am not an obsessed fan( buying all HP posters, etc) but I like to get things first like when a movie is newly released in theaters, I have to see it sometime on opening night!( OMG, the 3 and 4 HP films were sooo crowded and we had 3 movie theaters showing them!

I did go to the last movie on opening weekend, and while it was fun. I don't think it's going to work out this time. I'm going with my fiancees family to some car races all weekend. At least no one can spoil the movies for me, i've read the books.

Imax - neat Lance

It will be showing on an Ultrascreen (just a huge screen) here.  I don't think on the Imax but maybe.

We went to the 1st showing at 12:05 AM (got home at 3:00 AM, I think I might have gotten 3 hours sleep....)
The theater we went to showed it on four screens, all sold out a week ago. It was also playing at another theatre a few miles away and it too showed on four screens and was sold out. And this is in Maine, we don't have a very large population!
Anyway, we had a great time, the movie was great fun (no, of course it's not as good as the book, but good in it's own way, as my family has become very attached to the characters as played by these particular actors). Dolores Umbridge and Luna (Looney) Lovegood were both done so well, they realy brought those characters straight off the page.
Now we count down to Friday the 20th when we can go into Borders at 8:00 am and get our line bracelets so we can come back for the Hallows Ball Event and pick up our pre-ordered book at midnight. I won't be reading or watching ANY news until we finish the book, I don't want the ending spoiled for me!
My kids have grown up with this, and it has been such a fun thing for us to enjoy together, the books and the movies, including the anticipation.

One word of caution: sit as close to the rear as possible and in the center.

I watched the last HP movie at IMax and was disappointed. The screen was sooo large that you had to constantly look back and forth to catch all the action. I was sitting to one side because they shuffled us in and made everyone fill the rows from one end. I decided that would be the last time that I would watch a regular movie at iMax.
