I got my library copy of the latest Janet Evanovich book in her series about Stephanie Plum.  I can't wait to read it.  I usually read it in one long sitting, everything else gets put on the back burner and life as we know it ceases to exist until I finish the book.   But I have to work tonight, dagnabbit!

Anyone else a fan of this series?

OMG!!! Pam !!! These are my favorite I picked mine up yesteday (our Kroger routinely puts books out on the shelf a day ahead of when they're supposed to) so I picked it up there because I couldn't wait. I'm more than 1/2 through and will finish this evening I'm sure. I love the Stephanie Plum series and recommend it to everyone!!

Oh, don't tell me any spoilers! I really wish they would make a movie(s) about this.

Oh ... I LOVE series too. Have 'em all. I read it in one sitting too.  Pam ... go to www.evanovich.com and you can see who everyone has voted for the movie. It's great. I agree with most of them. Especially Sandra Bulloch for Stephanie. She was so good in Miss Congeniality that I think she would be terrific. Can't wait to get it. Happy Reading!!!

Oh, Doreen, I've voted on her site already! I think Tracey is right...a weekly series would be better than just one movie.

I can't believe I missed this thread!!

I have burst out laughing out loud while reading the Stephanie Plum series. I adore the Granddmother!! I tend to only buy or trade paperbacks and I still have about 20 boxes of books still sitting in our garage with no where to put them.
so now I am trying to get library books. I'm on the list for # 13. can't wait.

I would really like a weekly series also.
What fun!!

I read the book last week and laughed out loud in several places. Grandma and Lula are my favorites. I would love to meet up with Ranger for a night....or a weekend.

I LOVE this series too! I just finished Stephen King's latest, Blaze (as Richard Bachman), so now I can start on Evanovich's! I just laugh hysterically when I read her. I'd love a movie too, but they'd have to be really, really good and really, really funny to do it justice. I like Sandra Bulloch for Stephanie, but if they don't hurry up she'll be too old! The Rock is Ranger!

I've had the book in my hand for over a week and have not had the chance to open it.. I know when I do, I won't put it down. Love the series so much. The characters are really quite the "CHARACTERS" HAHA

Can you just imagine the "real" problem in your life being a decision between Morelli and Ranger - GEEZ!!!!

Deb: I just loaned mine to my friend, but if I get it back before your bumped up to #1 on the list, I'll be more than happy to send it down to you

I'm listening to Plum Loving on CD now. I'd have to add Diesel to the mix of which guy to choose.

I love that series too. If they do the tv show I will have to get it on cd. We don't have tv out here in the boonies. No signal and I am too cheap to buy a dish. I will have to get on the list at the library here. I am reading another series right now by Sharon Shinn. Its new to me and I love it too.

ANYTHING WORTH DOING IS WORTH OVERDOING Mom of eight, only three left at home! Pack leader to ten ratties: Maggie, Mysty, Berry, Simon, Ceecee and five puppies, Star,Sari, Bluebelle, Double stuf, and Snortie. As well as Ginger the Border Collie and a herd of turkeys!

I love these books too, but I jumped on the Stephanie Plum wagon too late and I am way behind. I've read the first 2. I've been buying them at garage sales, flea markets, used book stores and bargin shelves at book stores. They are just WAY too funny.

I love finding a series when there are already several books out. You can really gorge on couple in a row.
Anyone read any of the Sookie Stackhouse vampire mysteries by Charlaine Harris? If you like Stephanie Plum you would probably get a kick out of those.

Yes!  I love that series too.  There's also a series about a woman who gets turned into a vampire, actually the Queen of the vampires, by MaryJanice Davidson.  The first one is Undead and Unemployed.  They're very funny.

For some reason our library system only carries the MaryJanice Davidson books in LARGE PRINT

Thinking the blue hair crowd was not the target audience for these books?

Well, I'm older than you, but I don't mind the large print books.  I can actually read them without my reading glasses.  Ask if they can do an inter-library loan request for the book in whatever format you want it....regular print, on CD, etc.  Our library does inter-library loans for free, but some charge you a small fee.

It's no biggie, I thought it was funny- usually the large print selection has stuff like Barbara Cartland. Guess we have some pretty hip Seniors.
Every single one of her books in the whole County system is in LP only. Maybe they are cheaper than the regular version?

Yeah, I wouldn't think the old folks would like her books.  I mean she writes about s*x and vampires and stuff.  Of course, there are vision-impaired folks of all ages.
