I like the joke (and liked it better with "farted"). That was like when I stopped at a station store and picked up just a roll of turms. The attendant asked if I had gas (meaning for the car) and dumb me I asked him what he thought the tums were for.

The more serious side that folks keep bring up is that if people keep "stealing" gas we will probably no longer have "self serve" stations any longer.
