The time nears when a mere canidate will suddenly become President of Rattieland. The competition has been tough and I see that you have aligned your beautiful self with Marley in hopes of becoming the First Lady of Rattieland. If I may be so bold, I, too, would like to have you on my team if the citizens of Rattieland bless me with their support. My earlier offer to you to be Vice-President still stands but, if you prefer, I would consider it an honor for a lady as refined as you to stand by my side as we lead Rattieland. 

I do not have flowers to offer you, like Mr. Marley, because I do not believe in forced blooming in greenhouses - it's cruel (my garden is open to you any time and you will find roses, orchids, hibiscus, and jasmine blooms galore); however, I do not come empty handed. If you decide to join me on this adventure I will bestow upon you my grandmother's emerald and diamond necklace that would so perfectly match your green dress. Here's a photos of  the lovely piece you COULD be wearing on inauguration night and into our future. I can hardly wait to place it on your slender neck if you see fit to join me.

Oh, I know what the original Katie Scarlett would have done – she would have kept the men hanging until she figured out what was to her best advantage.  But, then she ended up all alone, didn’t she?  And lost her the true love and didn’t know even realize it until it was too late.  Oh yes, Mama has read me the story of the original Katie Scarlett.  I believe she had a bit of feline in her.

Yes, my Mama told me about the sequel, but we are purest and believe the true story ended with GoneWith the Wind.  We think only Margaret Mitchell could write about Katie Scarlett O’Hara, so we don’t believe anything we read in the sequel.  Mama said it was entertaining, but all made up.

Please tell Eddie I am sorry for my fit of nerves last night.  Sometimes it is just very hard being beautiful.

Dear Eddie,

What a mean, mean Mama you have to not share her burger and fries with you!  And on such a stressful day, too!  I must confess I was able to take a little nourishment today, after all I do need to keep my strength up to protect our home from those pesky chipmunks.

Eddie, I do hope we will continue our friendship after this election.  I have grown to love my correspondence with so many of my Rattie friends.  Why, perhaps there should be a forum called Rattie Chat – just for us!

GWTW was indeed a classic.  Mother says she hardly remembers the sequel and we like to dream that in reality Scarlett and Rhett eventually ended up together.
