OK here's hoping this works.

G'day Everyone, yep that's right an Aussie. I have just become the proud new mum of what we call a "Mini Foxie", not a recognised breed here in Australia, but they have been round for year. Fox Terrier mixed with Chihuahua and a little bit of Jack Russell. So I'm sure my little Meah fits the critera? Please.

Any way the little bundle of 'joy' is just six weeks old. The people I got her off (she was a freebie) think she was born on the 1st May. She was bred on a farm, so even though well reared, no worming, no shots, no microchip. But things that can easily be fixed, and have been. Even though she is tiny, 2lb or 1025 grams, she is eating well, taking to toilet training like it is second nature.

A little about me, secretary for a small company in rural New South Wales, single, and the only kids are furkids. I bred and showed dogs for many years, Dachshunds then Hungarian Vizslas. I still have 2, Tasha who is 12 in October, and her son Chobe 10. Ahh that was the last time I had a puppy. Plus 3 very spoilt cats, Stella an Australian Mist, Syliva an RSPCA moggie and Levi a Devon Rex. Lets just say that Levi is not taking this very well, and am watching him like a hawk, the other two are remarkedly laid back, seeing they have never known and inside dog.

So it's a bit of Momma Meah, what have I gotten myself into, she is so intelligent, follows me everywhere, curls up on my lap and watches TV, and is already sleeping in the bed, but is learning to be in a crate. While I may not be very active, it is nice to have somewhere to come to ask questions and get advice.

Two photos attached, one is her "The Thinker" pose the other is in the smallest rug I could find, and still had to double it over over her back, and she had it off in one roll. It's winter in Oz, so she is now wearing a sock, with leg holes cut in and the heel of the sock covers her little rump.

I just joined up here and figured this would be a good first thread to post in.

My name is Samantha (Sam)
My Rattie is Dakota - 7 yrs old, tri-color female
My hobbies include reading, photography, voluntering at the local animal shelter, and general dog stuff (training, grooming, etc.)

I don't have any pictures of myself, but here are a few of Dakota.

Lol, I actually didn't lurk for very long. I've been on a Rattie board quest for quite awhile now though, so I'm really hoping this place turns out to be as nice as it seems. There aren't a lot of Rat owners in my area so I need a different outlet for talking with like-minded people

Anyway, I'll try my best to be as a good a member as everyone else here. Thanks for the welcome!

Hi!  I just found this incredible website last week and I love it!!  My name is Susanne and I am 28.  I just married the love of my life Joey.  I have an incredible skin kid Nick- 9 and two firkids - Belle - 3 and Libby - 1.  I am so very blessed to have all of my perfect little family and we are working on adding one more skin kid =)  We live in Northern CA and love to camp, 4-wheel, and just have fun.  We are always look for more people to have fun with and more ways to do it!

The Girls:

They are never "the dogs" but "the girls".  They are our daughters.  Belle is the perfect dog!  She doesn't bark, chew, dig, etc.  Then there was Libby!  We do love our Libby girl, she just needs more attention!  Belle weighs 14 lbs or so and Miss Libbs tips the scales at about 22lbs.  She's pure muscle and sooooooo goofy.  If only you could see her play!  Belle was our first rattie and when she got lonely, we adopted LIbby from the same family two litters later.  They are half sisters and the similarities stop there!

I am so excited to be here and appreciate how wonderful all of you are!

The first picture is my adorable skin family, the second is my older girl Belle wrestling with her cousin Budweiser, and the third is my adorable Nick with his new puppy Libby.

Hi! I would like to thank Daisysmom for sending me the link to the proper area to introduce myself

My name is Monica. I am a displaced Southerner living on Long Island. I am a stay at home mom. I volunteer at a local animal rescue, at the cat adoption center ( since hubby and oldest son are allergic to cats, this is my only way to hang out with them ) I have my 3 sons, Jake, Jose and Cisto and of course my babygirl Bella Donna Ruby Dews aka Hells Bells. Here are some pics of us and i will have more of Belly soon! ( honey, where the heck is the camera cord???!!!)

Welcome Bella's moma and family. We are glad you found this site...you will laugh, cry, reminise and learn a lot. There are a lot of wonderful people you will meet and you will find these same people genuinely care about their furbabies. Hope to hear more about your furbaby and the skin babies, too. Best wishes!
