We had a blast!  And no one will ever convince me that New Yorkers are anything but nice people.  We were treated so kindly while there!  Everyone was wonderful.  We even had a construction worker come up to us at Ground Zero concerned about Randy walking too much in the heat on his crutches (which he was) and he showed us a place to go inside and get a view of the area, then told us where to go to sit and rest and get a cool drink.  I loved the cabbies - yay for Yellow Cabs!  We loved it all.  New Yorkers are the best!

I have a gazillion photos, but will only bore y'all with some of my favorites.

1.  The Statue of Liberty - I was surprised at the impact seeing her in person had on me.  I swelled with pride to be an American!

2.  From a distance - she was one of the highlights of the trip for both of us!

3.  Randy on "top of the Rock" - Rockefeller Center with the Empire State Building in the background.

5.  The Empire State Building

6.  Man-made waterfall under Brooklyn Bridge

7.  Times Square

8.  Young Frankenstein --- the show we saw - it was great!

9.  Grace Episcopal Church - the site of the wedding (none of my wedding photos turned out - no photos allowed in church and reception area was hard to get photos - will have to wait for the pros)

And last --

we took a dinner cruise and saw the city at night -- awesome!

and . . .

on the day we were leaving our s-i-l and grandson flew in to see a Yankee's and Met's game, so we met up in the lobby, had lunch and a nice visit before we left for home.

It was a great trip.

Thank you, NYC!

I absolutely love NYC....we went Xmas of '06 for 6 days....I did ALOT of shopping!  I thought everyone was pretty friendly too (it's all the tourists that got on my nerves...LOL)  I couldn't live there but I love to visit.  I hope to go back one day.

One of my favorite places. One of my very best friends lives there and before Guy, on any given Friday just go jump in the car and head to NY. He had lived there his whole life and never seen most sights, even the Statue of Liberty til I took him. Guy and I are heading up there this year to stay with him and his wife.I LOVE NY, it truly is a great place.

Wow, I can't wait to go someday.  I was supposed to go 4 years ago, but my Dad died and we cancelled the trip(it was for 3 days later).  Someday, I will get there.  I've heard that the Statue of Liberty is a must see.  No matter how much we've seen her on TV, they say in her presence you get a completely different feeling for her.  I'm tearing up just thinkin about it!  Great photo's.  Glad your back home now.  We missed you around here.

That is exactly right, Carol.  I had no idea she would impact me like she did.  We were on the boat and they said they would circle around so both sides could see her.  So, I didn't try to go to the other side, but was working with my camera  waiting for our turn.  I didn't realized we had circled and when I looked up from the camera, there she was!  I actually gasped.  Then our last night there, we did the dinner cruise.  They had a band on board and when we got up to her - all lit up in glory - they sang God Bless America and everyone joined in.  I actually had tears streaming down my cheeks.  There was a young lady with her mother (I guess) standing next to me and her husband had been a victim of 9-11, so that just added to the emotion.  No photograph can reproduce what it is like to see her in person!

Jan, wonderful pictures! Sure glad you both had a great time. Both you and Randy are looking ever so much better. The healing is beginning to show in big ways. That makes me so happy! Is Randy handing the grandson a baseball card?? It sure looks that way You both look well and like you're having a great time. That's fantastic
