He's not a rat terrier but he's now got a sister for one! Dinky Doc came to us after my mom rescued him out in the woods near her home in Keno, Oregon. He is a minature dashund and oh so under weight! He's just skin and bones. She kept him for 10 days, put signs up all over and nary a call. Saturday she had to go to a funeral and left him with us over night and SuperJohn just fell in love... I had been calling him Dinky becase he is... Johnny was calling him Doc. Now that he's become a member of the family, Dinky Doc it is. What was extremely fun is that my mom came to pick him up last night and then called me this morning and said my dad really doesn't want another animal to care for (They have two huge dogs and two cats already) and asked me if it would be okay to give him to Johnny. David and I talked it over and agreed but as Johnny was still asleep, we adults agreed to keep it a secret. until she could get here and present him with the little dog. He appears to be quite young. His teeth are in good condition, he's neutered, he has several scratches on his muzzle that seem to be healing just fine and a few small cracks in his foot pads (I'd love to know what scary adventures he had out there in the woods all alone... poor baby!) and at least 2-3 pounds under weight, but as we all saw with Paul and Barb's Bo, some good lovins will fix him up in no time. So, without further adieu, here he is, Dinky Doc!

Shiloh is NOT amused. I'm sure, given time and tons of attention for herself she will adjust but no, Shiloh does not appreciate the invasion in the least! He may be little, but he's still the enemy!

He's itty bitty
I keep losing him in the livingroom!
Going to have to revise allll the fences too
He sure is well behaved though, rarely barks, took a bath without protest yesterday, walks on a leash well and LOVES to be cuddled. Johnny is simply not allowed out of his sight, period. Johnny is thrilled.

Obviously, someone's dog, eh? Well.... they shouldn't have allowed him to get loose. Their loss is your gain.
I'm assuming every effort has been made to find the owner...
He's SOOO darling !

Yes Ma'am Nora, every effort was put into finding the owners. My mom had signs up everywhere she could think of and for 10 days no calls. Then my dad stepped on Doc and was really scared he had hurt him, then he tripped over Doc and fell hard. He's 76 years old, a fall like that after several back and shoulder surgeries could be dastardly. They still have the signs all around their town and if they get the call, although Johnny would be seriously upset, we would take a drive up there.

What a cutie pie! Being underweight I'd think that he's either been lost for a while or someone dumped him. Amazing a predator didn't get him. He's one lucky dink.
