How big are those tanks? I had a 200 gallon tank many years ago. Loved to just sit and watch the fish - very relaxing!

Uhm...   do you live on the beach and consider the ocean your back yard and that's where you keep the pets?  'Cause that last pic is a whale shark.

Great photos, though.  The frogs look cool but poisonious, aren't they?

Well, we have 8 tanks with fish in them.... 7 are fresh water and we have 1 salt water tank. 3 are about 2 gallon tanks, 1 is a ten gallon. We also have a 29 gallon tank and two 15 gallons. Then Salt water tank is 50 gallons. I think I got the gallons right, anyway.

There's also a 15 gallon that is half filled with water...we glued a platform onto the side that covers over about half the tank, and set it up for the two fire bellied newts we had.

Whoops, forgot to put a picture of the newts up! Here's two of one of them and their tank (excuse the lousy pictures...it's hard to get a good one when the glass is all fogged up)

Haha, that picture was actually taken at the Georgia Aquarium! They have 2 whale sharks there...well, they had two. One of them died not to long ago. And we live pretty inland. Besides, I don't think whale sharks live in the northern oceans.

Yes, the frogs are poisoness out in the wild. They eat a type of insect were they live that makes them produce a poisoness secretion on their skin that can kill you. But, since they aren't fed it in captivity, they are completely harmless. There's a store that sells different types of poison dart frogs about an hour away from were I live were we got these guys. They breed them too, so they aren't taken out of the wild.

Sara how hard are the frogs to take care of? I've seen them but I thought ALL dart frogs we the "deadly" kind. I have 3 10 gallon takns; 1 with gold fish, 1 with tree crabs and 1 empty now. Was thinking of red slider turtles but they get tooo big and are very hard to keep.

They're not really that hard to take care of....but it can be a bit expensive at first. The dart frogs themselves go for around $40 to $60 usually, and some are over $100. You have to get the substrate, and the 'decorum' like wood and plants. The only thing that's really a pain is the flightless fruite flies...you have to feed the frogs live food. We have the flies in containers with some fly food and excelsior, and we have to keep moving them around from container to container, setting up new containers....it just gets a little tiresome after a while. You have to 'dust' the flys with vitamin or calcium powder as well before you feed them to the frogs...you dump them in a plastic cup with the powder, and shake them around in the stuff. This meens ecaped fruit flies...we find one every now and then. But other than the flies, they're real easy to take care of.

We have the black and green frog in a ten gallon. A ten should be fine as long as you don't get one of the really big ones. The other two are in a twenty gallon that is split in half. You CAN NOT keep a male and a male together with most kinds of frogs, or a female and a female together. They'll fight and most likely end up killing each other. Some you can keep together, but a 10 gallon is only big enough for one of them anyway.

Here's a link to the website of the store I go to, "Black Jungle, and their catalog, although I don't know if you live near them.

Red Ear sliders stind worse than other aquatic pets too, but the frogs are easy to take care off. Also some people will put a black light in the tank at night for the effects of it all.
