It is a male rainbow bunting. The first pic is a female rainbow bunting .
I have never put out bird food before, BF started it about 2 years ago and we get all kinds of new ones each fall and spring. We have even had a green cardinal, sorry no pics.

I have been feeding birds for a while now. I have done reading each year and put out feed for the birds I wanted to attract. I took me 2 years but last year I finally seen my first Baltimore Oriole. It was very cool. Bird feeding can be a lot of fun,

The great pleasure of a dog is that you may make a fool of yourself with him and not only will he not scold you, but he will make a fool of himself too

Wow, were do you live?? I've seen cardinals up here in the northeast, but nothing like the first two ones!
We do have scarlet tanagers, but I hardly ever see them.

Whoa!!! The buntings are cool. I'm in Ohio, so obviously we have TONS of cardinals, but I've never seen the buntings.

One year I had a few rainbow buntings... but for the past few years I haven't seen any. Now I know they are at your place! LOL
These are beautiful pictures.
