I have read that PETA may step in there because of her age. These horses are racing before their bones are fully developed and that is just wrong. I hope this can be a big learning lesson and there are no more tragedies like this again.

The great pleasure of a dog is that you may make a fool of yourself with him and not only will he not scold you, but he will make a fool of himself too

They are started too young (yearlings and 1 1/2 yr. olds!!!!) and ridden too hard. The track at the Derby place doesn't have a poly track like some others have gotten. I wouldn't be surprised if she had hairline fractures from stress and running hard on that track made them blow out totally. It's sickening and I'm so glad I was out of town on Sat. and didn't watch the race....I usually don't watch races because of the potential for injuries.

I have no patience for PETA, they just want to start trouble.

Rest in peace you sweet princess.  Run when you want for your pleasure and not for the pleasures of others. Thank-you for gracing us with your beautiful presence.  Hopefully your life as well as your death will not be in vain!
