Some of you old timers may remember photos Nora posted last year of an old deserted marina on our lake. (Haha, she told everyone it was our home, dock and boat). New people bought the marina, cleared out the debris and have built a nice little marina in its place. Here are a couple of before and after photos.

3: After |

| Looks great. Those pics Nora posted were very funny. You should repost the pics of your house and the million stairs, with rest areas, leading to the lake. |

You could have installed a big slide for getting down the hill. That would be fun! I don't know about getting back up the hill. |

| Thanks, I might add that these lake pictures were taken in late winter, while the lake was down. They lower our lake each winter and then bring it up in the spring -- part of flood control. So, during boating season it is not this low (thank the Lord!) |

| Gorgeous place, Jan! All the steps remind me of some of the lots on Smith Lake here in Alabama. |

Oh Trina! I LOVE Smith Lake. That is the lake we used to go to when we lived in B'ham. It is beautiful. Man, I use to ski that lake like a crazy woman (haha, much younger then!). Tracey -- they are coming out this week to set some posts. The lift will take most of the summer (ugh) to build -- I, of course Miss Patience, want it NOW! |

| Of course you do - that there's a lot of steps!!!! I can't remember is it for people/dogs or just to send "stuff" up and down so you don't have to carry it? |

| Our dream is to retire to Smith Lake. We live only about 5 minutes from Lake Martin, and it's pretty, but there is just something about Smith that I like SO much better! Probably because that's where I hung out when I was in high school. Plus, it is supposed to be the cleanest lake in Alabama. |

Tracey -- it will hold 4 people and some gear and will have a "send/receive" button so we can use it to haul just stuff! It will have a triple safety braking system, so it won't become a Disney Daredevil Ride! (Though, maybe we should make it into one and charge admission to help pay for it!!!) Trina -- in B'ham of course, we were close to Lake Martin, but like you all, made the trip to Smith. Yes, it is clean and gorgeously beautiful! |

I remember these pictures - haha!!! That lift sure is going to be nice, huh? I would personally charge admission - and not worry so much about the brakes....HA!
