It is still dreary, chilly and very rainy here in the bluegrass of Kentucky. But there are signs that spring is arriving.
1. A bird (I think a house finch) is building a nest in the wreath on my front door. What a great view I'll have, as it is on my glass storm door. I've enjoyed watching her put it together and she is now lining it with feathers, for a nice soft nest for her eggs and babies. Can't wait.
2. The goldfinches are turning from olive to yellow!
3. The redbuds are starting to bloom.
Another sign - baby foals are everywhere in the fields. I took my camera to get photos yesterday, but by the time I came back through from town, they were up for the day. Too rainy to get photos today, but I will get them and post as soon as I can. I love to ride by the horsefarms this time of year and see all the sweet little foals.
