| Aww Im sorry if this offends, but I love seeing the hermit crabs with paintings on the shells lol. I always wanted one when I was a kid, but my mom said they have a strong odor thats not the greatest... dunno how true that is lol |

They only have a bad fish smell when they are dead. As for any other time I have not noticed a smell inless I need to change their sand. As for the painted shells it's like cheap dog food it's a NO-NO! The paint is bad for them and toxic.

We got hermit crabs for my daughter when she was younger...they were cool until one day one of them was "naked"....out of it's shell. They look quite icky then! |

Thanks for sharing but, sorry I don't like anything creepy crawly. Although, I bet my son would LOVE them. He and Daddy like to go exploring for wildlife when we go to the ocean. Or even just in our backyard. Not me. |
