That will live insid of me as one of the hardest and worst days of my life........Being as down as I was I did not see any way out but tried to keep it from my family.......My youngest son sensed something and gave me the best gift any one couold..........he made me laugh and here is the pix to prove it.........

Pix 1 son is giving me all of the smiles that he can.......

Pix 2 son and smiles with a very pregnant Mama Mia!!!!!!!!!!!

The laughter only lasted for a few minutes before the darkness settled in again but it got the desired result that laughter cures all ills. For those of you wondering ......this is the first time I have said the words............my dad went into the nursing home today...........

So I hope to share my special smile son Colten with all of you.......

He is your friend, your partner, your defender, your dog. You are his life, his love, his leader. He will be yours, faithful and true, to the last beat of his heart. You owe it to him to be worthy of such devotion." ~Unknown

So sorry that you are sad. I just love how our kids know just what we need when we need it.

Tina -- I just saw this. I don't always check the posts on this particular forum... sorry.
As difficult as this is for you, please try to remain positive. There are truly worse things that could happen. When a person gets to the point where he/she can no longer live at home for whatever reason, be thankful that there are places that they can go where they will have good care.
It's hard... it's emotional... and it's scarey. I know. I watched my father die a slow death at home... and my mom has been in a nursing home for 4 years in May. But there is no way I can caer for my mother at home, and she has people 24/7 who surround her with love and attention. I pray that your father is this fortunate.
The realities of life aren't always enjoyable. But we CAN take lemons and make lemonade with them!
Take your furbaby to visit him...(is he close by?). He and the other patients will SO enjoy your furkid...
*hugs*

There are times when I'm sad that I didn't have a daughter, but I think sons are sometimes closer to their moms than daughters are. I know my two boys would do anything for me. Your youngest is a cutie.
