This is one crazy lizard. This is Aris, my daughter's friends lizard. He rest on his log and opens his mouth like he is hot. My daughter's lizard never does this. Do you know if this is normal???? He will do this for a while and then he will get under his log. What is the deal? I sure don't want him to die before his owner returns to tend to him. I am doing the exact same thing for both. This is a male and the other is a female which she is moulting and is not so cute at the moment. LOL

He's a bit freaky looking ( I mean that in a nice way). I'm not the kind to like anything non-furry. LOL. He is a very interesting character. Ricky knows lots about lizzards, I'll see if I can find out why old Aris is panting...lol

Back sorry, yeah he looks warm. I would just make sure he has a place in the cage to cool off if he wants to. You said theres 2 lamps on him, a 75 and a 26. Maybe you should turn the 26 off so he can go to the opposite side of the 75 and stay cool over there if he needs to.

Oh hey... I am just now seeing this. Thanks Jules, I was thinking that it was not right. I will have to talk to the owner about this because I am doing word for word what is written down in his notes for me to go by. But poor little guy just does not seem happy or right. My daughters on the other hand is such a pig and is happy all the time. I am working the lights the say way for both. This guy seems to only love veg. and the other gal loves loves loves her crickets!!! LOL She also loves her pinkies but I told my daughter I was not going there!!! I will feed her crickets until the cows come home but I am not feeding her baby mice!!! LOL

I have his lights off now but will try turning that second (26w) light off for a while tomorrow and see what happens. Thanks for the tip!!

Yeah we have had Jaquelin for 3 yrs now and never fed her pinkies, I just can't do that. She eats bearded dragon food that we just soak in water and it gets mushy and her and Sushi like that. My baby is a carnivore still cuz she is still tiny yet. She likes things that move so she gets crickets or meal worms. Sushi is going into hibernation mode right now and he isnt awake very much this time of yr.

Here are my beardies

Sushi was a rescue case, I have a friend who works at a petshop and Sushi and his gf were brought in really thin. So my friend took care of them and found homes for both. We took the male and my friend found a home for the girl so they didnt continue breeding.

Jaque- Scott got as a tiny baby and we raised her up.

We have had a few others that have died. We had one named Madel and Jaque bit her tail off and she couldn't recover from it no matter what we did and she passed away.  We had another one named Bridgette and she ate a fire fly that got in her cage and she died. Scott was so devastated she was gonna be really orange. This new baby I have is gonna be super orange so that should be cool. She is still too young to show her color yet tho.

Oh they are so much like the two I have here now. What do yours eat? I have one that only wants veg. and the other lives for crickets. They are very different!!

They both eat the beardied dragon food, collard greens and meal worms. Jaqueline will sit at the front of her cage and I can hand feed her like 50 meal worms she loves those. I can feed worms and crickets but thats as far as I got with live stuff. That is one reason I wont have a snake i couldnt feed mice.

Oh really? Does she feed froozen or live?

I just took a bunch of pics of Bindi she was sleepy. So I could catch her. I just measured her, she is 5 1/2 inches long now.

Awww she is tiny. She looks just like Asia, same coloring. I will have to take a picture of her to show you. I am not sure of her age, I think my daughter got her in Sept as a baby. She is now out growing her 10 gallon tank. I think she grows by the day, must be the mice.

lol I thought u were only supposed feed mice when they were like full of eggs or something for extra fat in their diet. I feel bad for the poor baby mice. I have mice as pets they are cute little guys =(( When I was a kid we had a snake and my dad would have to kill rats for the snake cuz she wont eat them like. UGH i hated that!

Actually they are called "pinkies" which are baby mice that look like they are only a day old, no fur/eyes closed. Super small. She feeds her one once a week. But I refuse to do that so poor Asia is looking at me like why are you holding out on me woman!!!  She only gets crickets and vegs. from me. LOL

Oh and that is a great self-portrait of you!!!

I just asked Scott and he said pinkies are really fattening. He said you don't really need to feed pinkies once a week. It will make them kinda chunkie. I know the term pinkies, I just prefer to call them mice, i feel bad for them. I think ppl make up all the terms like Pinkies, Fuzzies and hoppers to pretend they aren't living things, its sad.
