Hi, I'm Angie. I live in Weed, Ca. with my wonderful husband David. We've been married 19 years and have 4 children, (2 girls,2 boys) by law (ages 11,15,17&18) and about a half dozen at any given time of 'extras' that we feed daily. Hubby swears I'll feed anything that holds still long enough and I guess that's true enough. Not sure where they all come from, but I've always had a tendency towards taking in strays rather they be people in need of a warm meal or a place to stay or animals in need. We've had a variety of interesting pets over the years and at present have Shiloh, our beloved rattie (had her first birthday but because she was a rescue, abandoned in a Walmart parkinglot of all places! I can only guess that she must have been born around Thanksgiving a year ago) Cinder, our old blind tom cat and Icky, Shiloh's kitty. We also have 3 lizards, 2 goldfish, a tree frog, a large mouthed bass named Buddy (in a pond, not in the house, thankfully!) a toad and a Guinea pig named Pete. Ours is a crazy, busy lifestyle full of goofy activities aimed mostly at keeping a horde of teenagers inspired and out of trouble! Hubby owns a computer business that he runs out of our home. A year ago, I quit 2 very stressful jobs and now stay at home answering phones and helping with the business where I can and doing an awfully alot of chores!... In my off time, I've managed to write three historical-fiction novels, 2 of which I've been trying to get published. I'm a research fanatic and seem to spend every spare moment trying to learn something new. I'm a bit of a history buff as well and simply love the written word! I just joined Rt in April and have had a ball meeting the wonderful folks here on RT and learning their stories. |

Ooh I love this post! I like being able to put names with faces!
I'm Danielle. I'm 22 and I live in Indiana, about an hour from Chicago.
I graduated college with a degree in Accounting, but I work for my dad's business ( a machine shop) doing his A/R, A/P, payroll, etc.
I got married about 10 months ago to my hubby, who is from South Africa. We met randomly when he was in the US working, and fell in love...got married 9 months later.
For now, no kiddies yet, just Daphne, our RT/Chihuahua mix. She's enough though, she's got more energy than the 2 of us combined! |

What is so neat about this site is that we have members of all ages. I think Super John is the youngest, at age 11. I don't think anyone will admit to being the oldest member though. |

Welcome to you Jen and Izzy....if you want to add more pics (and you definitely should - we LOVE pics) go to the Photos: Ratties thread and start a new post. There you can upload up to 3 pics at a time. Just make sure they're resized to less than 125 kb. Bless you for adopting a rattie and for the work that you do at the Humane Society |

Hi just wanted to join the site, I love it and love love love our little rat terrier "Trixie" I think she is the best little (only one I've ever had) dog. She is 10 mths old now and we adopted her at 2mths. She was a surprise for my daughters 10 year birthday and they are inseprable. Such a great personallity she has even my "big dog loving" husband adores her and scratches and pets her on his lap .
We live in Northern Ohio on a farm, Trixie has 3 kids Jody 10, Erica 13 and Blake 7 (her tormenter), but she deals well with him.
Does anyone else have a Rattie that smiles all the time?
