Ok, since it is getting close to All Hallows Eve I thought I'd post some pics of 2 places that are rather "odd" around here. First is a house built right on/in the marsh which is very secretive and surrounded by trees. WEIRD vibes comes from that house. I walk by there a lot and it's just plain creepy. Bill feels it, too, and he is totally not superstitious. Once we were walking by and we both got a shiver and felt (not heard but felt) something like a person shrieking in mortal terror or pain. We could almost smell death....it was very weird. Also, this house is across from the old cemetary.
The last pic if of a house from the 1800's. Looks perfectly normal. Except i cannot make myself get too close to it. Something on the second floor is just so unbearably sad....have no idea what but I'm sure glad I don't work there!
I'm hoping Jan (Sassy's Mom) will see these and have some input!

Yes, the first house is occupied but we've rarely seen the people....and no one will say much about them around here. The second house belongs to the National Park Service now. |

ohhh ick MaryBeth.. I've had to get up and walk away from the pic of the first house, twice... everytime I look at it my head thumps.. The window thats visible is just plain creepy.. This is a very unhappy house... lots of abuse here.... no love, In the upstairs there is a feeling of bondage.. restraint... entrapment... and physical and emotional pain... Second house, When the house was built it was a happy home... that changed... I have a feeling of a young woman standing on the top porch crying and looking out waiting for a love that never returned to her... she paces back and forth crying... I have to head to the Dr right now... will elaborate more in a few... |

Well, that confirms what I felt. Ickiness at the first house, sadness at second. The young woman would have been looking directly down the river to the ocean from the top porch so maybe her husband/lover was lost at sea. I sense something about babies being lost at that house, too....don't know if it's stillbirth, miscarriage, young children with sickness, etc. Thanks Jan....will look forward to you elaborating on these two houses! |

That first place has a sinking feeling looking at it! The second is a nice looking place but I too, sense a sadness! Does that sign in front say "Cumberland?" This is getting creepy folks - My old house is in Cumberland! |

Interesting that we all get the same feelings! The sign says Cumberland Island National Seashore....it's a barrier island off our coast that a wealthy family owned...now owned by the National Park Service. The Park Service bought this old house, too, and their offices are now in there. We're down here in south Georgia, BTW. The island itself (Cumberland Island) is only reachable by boat and has some haunted places, ruined mansions, etc. on it. Also, a cemetary that is haunted by the ghosts of some wagons that overturned. And of course down here there is always the spector of the slaves that once worked the plantations. |

MaryBeth, when I said that I didn't know it looked out onto the sea.... Makes perfect sense... I kept feeling something to do with the ocean, but didn't know it looked out that way.. When I was 14 my parents took me to Jacksonville/ St. Aug.... for the historical thing... anytime my parents took me on a vacation, Dad wanted it to be historical in some way...... Washington, Yellowstone, St. Mt Georgia....etc.... |

| My parents did that, too, Jan. Every year, sometimes twice a year, we went to historical places. From Delaware, New York down through North Carolina (my mom's from NC). Philadelphia, Washington DC every summer, Williamsburg, VA; Gettysburg, etc. I LOVE history. Just as Bill feels "connected" to colonial times I am more connected to medieval times. |
