RUSSIAN woman has given birth to a baby weighing an eye-watering 17.1 lb.
And the hefty newborn Nadezhda is mother Tatiana Khalina’s TWELTH child – adding to a brood of eight sisters and three brothers.
Nadezhda was delivered by caesarean section in the Altai region of Siberia on September 17, a local journalist reported.
“We were all simply in shock,” Tatiana, whose previous babies have all weighed more than 11lb, said.
“What did the father say? He couldn’t say a thing – he just stood there blinking.”

She added that she followed no special diet to produce the champion tot: “I ate everything, we don’t have the money for special foods so I just ate potatoes, noodles and tomatoes.” |

I'd say the umbilical stump was probably treated with something like iodine and it probably rubbed off on her leg.

So glad I don't have to worry about being pregnant at my my age.... but think I'm going to be watching my intake of potatoes, noodles and tomatoes anyway.... if that's what sprouts 11-17 lb. babies!!  |

She had the last one by c-section, so it's not like he'd be going into the Grand Canyon.  He could always wear a safety harness and ropes tied to the bedpost. |
