Hello All,

So,  I went to the local Animal Shelter yesterday and found this puppy.  He is about 8 months old.  They had again had him listed as a chi same as my Trixy.  Anyway,  I think he is Rattie.  He is shorter than Trix but weight the same 8-9lbs.  What do you think?  We adopted him yesterday.  We won't get him until he is fixed.  He is very very shy right now and Trix is well spoiled rotten,  so of course she was a little dominating.  But we felt really bad for him because he is so submissive, and like a little lost baby.  I think that he will get out of it once he is in a stable enviroment.

Thank you!  My husband thinks he will open up.  When the adoption lady brought him in he was jumping all over her, You know how they like to do that,  she said that she has not really handled him too much either. She said that if she would have known he was so shy, that she would have worked with him more.  He does come right up to you whne you call him though.  Trixy was funny, she just wanted to play, he wasn't sure how to take her crazy ways, he was avoiding her but wanted to just be held by one of us.

Yay!!! Great news. He's absolutely gorgeous. Definitely looks like a rat to me. I would think that he will really enjoy Trixi and her antics once he's home for good and has some time to realize whatever he's went through recently is over. Keep us posted. We want TONS of pics when he gets home!

He's beautiful and will look wonderful with Trix. Allow him 2 or so weeks easily to get settled in depending on how long he was at the shelter and how much handling he had before, esp since he is shy. Tell your family not to be upset if he doesn't warm up to anyone in the first week or two. Once they feel confident and safe, these shy ones bond like crazy. Usually first to the primary care giver (mom).

Can't wait to see more of both of your pups!

When I first saw him,  I thought wow,  this is trixy's brother,  they are both about the same age and were in the same place (shelter).  it is terrible,  he went into the shelter on 22 Sep.  and was put in the adoption section tuesday night.  I saw him wednesday morning.  they had him listed as 1 year old.  it is the animal shelter,  they do euthenize, he is clearly not a year old yet, he is so puppy like.  that worse part about it is that i think he was someone's pet,  he didn't seem like he was out on his own far very long,  he seems to be healthy.  some one just decded not to look far him when he got lost,  I just don't understand how people can do that and sleep at night knowing their dog is out roaming the streets for days.   but he will be safe now.
