Had a photo shoot this morning at Borderland where Bailey and I train.  Another friend came with her golden retriever, Sasha... so took some pictures for her too.  When we were finished.... (and it was SOOO hot)... Sasha (being the water dog that she is)... wanted to swim in the pond.  So Adrina throw Sasha's toy into the pond so Sasha could retrieve it.

Bailey (who will tolerate water in a bath only if he HAS to), went crazy.  I've tried on numerous other occasions to get him to swim, but no.... he wants NO part of it.

Today he wanted Sasha's toy so badly... he kept circling the pond, pawing at the ground... whining, crying... as you can see from the pictures!   He wanted to go in so badly, but he was afraid.

Finally... the prey drive overcame him... and in he went!  I was dumbfounded... and once he knew he could do it, he kept getting out with Sasha.. and going back in time and time again.  It was so much fun to watch!

However... he never did get the toy... haha

First pictures.. thinking maybe if he cries enough, Sasha will release her toy (but she didn't).

Bailey is, indeed, a very brave boy.  Those are great photos.  You can see his indecision in the first few shots give way as his desire for the toy becomes greater than the fear of the unknown.  Thanks for sharing.

Oh My Goodness! I enjoyed these photos soooo much. You better get that boy a water toy and let him play in the pond! He deserves one, don't you think?

I'm so glad you had your camera and capture all of these shots Good job, Bailey!!! The whining, crying, scratching at the ground sounds a lot like what Daisy would do. I don't know if she'd ever jump on in and go fort it, though.

You need to have Riley put a swimming pool back in the hole in the deck so Bailey can go swimming whenever he wants to.
