This was one sweet and gentle little Mama.  They called her Beauty and she was all scratched up.  I can't imagine what she had gone through, but she was happy to be with us and she trusted us with her babies.  She only left them to go pee and drink a little water.  She will make somone a wonderful pet and her puppies are all adorable.  Eyes and ears are still closed, but nursing like crazy.  I pray that they are OK for the rest of their journey to Florida.

Poor Mama, probably a long journey protecting her babies!!!

The great pleasure of a dog is that you may make a fool of yourself with him and not only will he not scold you, but he will make a fool of himself too

The puppies look a little long. I wonder if they have Dachsund in them? They are almost the same age as my babies.

I named that photo 4 little sausages.  They do look long, but they are really small.  It's hard to tell since they can't really stand up.

Tauney's Mom, we weren't in a plane.  They were in my camping/travel crate in the back of my minivan.  This was a car transport in GA.  I stopped to let the Mama drink and pee while we waited for the next person  to come pick up.  That's when we opened up the back of the van and took pic's...I left the air on as well.  They didn't get hot and it was not long before the next transport person got there.  I think there are 2 or 3 boys.  I didn't check all of them, but the couple that I did were boys.  Here are a couple more pics.  I remember this little black and white cutie was a boy.

I am so sad to post this.  You may have read on the Rescue thread that all of these puppies have passed away.  I am so sad.  I thought they were just nursing away, but it turns out the mother was not producing milk.  I guess they were just trying to nurse. I only had them for an hour or so in my van, but I wish i would have known there was a problem.  It's just so sad for me to look back at these photo's and see the one where they were trying to nurse.  They were connected to Mama and she was very attentive to them.  I just wish I would have known that they needed to be bottle fed.

Rest in Peace little puppies.  You were beautiful little babies and we loved you much even if for a very short while.

I didn't trelize these were the same pups that died. They all look so healthy in your photos. Up and moving and all. Please don't let this discourage from helping in the future! And on the good side looks like mama is going to a GREAT home!

I know it was a shock to me.  I was superbusy this weekend and didn't see any of these post and I just found out today when I got my crate back from the girl who took them after me.  I thought about them all weekend and I was hoping they were getting settled in their new home.  It's just so sad because I had them and they were alive.  I wish I could have noticed they were in trouble or something, but I didn't want to mess with them too much because they were just newborns.  Mama just seemed so sweet and happy and she did drink water, but she didn't like drink a whole bowl full.  It's too bad someone up where she came from couldn't take them to a vet and care for them until they got a little bigger and stronger.

I know you feel bad like you should have done more...but don't. You did what you could do. There was no way you could have known!!!! You did give mama/ Beauty now known as Dolly a chance of life with a LOVING forever home. You, along with your children had a chance to show 4 doomed little babies love and kindness, much much more than they would have had before you assisted with this rescue!! Thank-you for your kindness and love, thank-you for your childrens love and thank-you for makeing it possible for Dolly to be taken care of as she deserves. You did more than you will ever relize for her and her family!

Thanks for your kind words.  I am not trying to be a victim here.  It's the puppies who are the victims.  It just makes me sad, but I'm fine and I'll still help if there is a need in my area.

Thanks again,

Carol
