Those poor hairless kids have such a rough genetic lot. That one is blind with bad teeth to boot. I have a girlfriend that just loves the Chinese Cresteds and works with them for rescue. She has 4 of her own (and one Rat/Chi mix who is the odd dog out). Even at their cutest they are soooo much less confident than our ratties that it's hard for me to warm up to them. Good thing there is someone for every breed, right? |

It's a chinese crested. those poor pups have so many genetic problems...no wonder they always win the "World's Ugilest Dog" contest.

| i think the regular chinese crested look cute (ugly cute) but ive seen that picture before on my brothers computer, i though it was like a rat or something! and i though that it was a fake picture! are you telling me that that is a real dog? is it still alive!!!! |

It's a real dog...they have an Ugliest Dog contest every year at the Sonoma-Marin fair (CA), and the winner is usually is a chinese crested. Either the adult teeth don't come in, or they fall out, which makes the teeth left shift around and look freaky like that guy above. Even the "ideal" standard is ugly to me, but they do have a "powder puff" version that is pretty cute...don't know if they still develop the same problems as the others, though. But still, the chinese crested is not for me.

| haha i googled the dog after i saw this and saw a few dogs that were in the contest and won the contest and what not. theres sam, peewee, archill, ellwood, and there are a lot more! ive seen the chinese crested before but i didnt know that they can have such bad defects. thats weird! |
