| I hold Bob like that or with my left arm under his butt and his front legs on my left shoulder. He's a big 20 pounder, so I can't hold him for long. |

I carry Mayfly like a baby on my hip or with one hand holding her little heiny (cause she's got just a nub for a tail). Mitzy I carry any which way that works, usually by the brisket. Both of them are the "compact" versions of ratties...aka short-legged.
Gavin, my big foster rat, I don't carry. He weighs about 18 pounds now and is tall, LONG legs.

I hold Chloe by the brisket too - most of time. (didn't know what that was called til just now!) Sometimes she likes to be held like a baby, feet up over my shoulders, my hand tucked under her bum (tail tucked of course!) She ususally likes that when we shop together and they let me take her inside the stores.

| I hold Paisley with my hand under her behind and she leans against me - she sits like a hedgehog (fairly vertical). Sort of like a one armed football hold but with her more vertical. |

Poor Fuji gets carried in different ways depending on whose doing the carrying. I usually do the football hold. My son cradles him like a baby. My youngest daughter can barely hold him so she carries him by holding him under his front paws and the rest of his body just kind of hangs there |

I hold him by the throat. Is that bad?
Actually, I hold Murphy exactly like the first pic, with his long legs hanging down.
