Welcome! Your story sounds familiar. Kim's Amos was only supposed to be 15 lbs...18 lbs max, but he's 40+ lbs.

Welcome to another big Rattie! Yay! Someone else that was told their pup would be 15-20 lbs and ooops! They got that one wrong! Amos weighed in at 47lbs on his last vet visit. Amos was listed on Pet Finder as a Rat Terrier Mix, so I can't really complain. If you got yours from a pet shop, was he full blooded? Yours may be Decker rat terrier. Amos might be too, but my bet is that his "mix" part is small pony. lol

Hi and welcome!  Can't wait to see pictures.  The breeder where we got Dink from told us that they typically get up to 15 lbs but that she knew someone who's rattie was 35 lbs.

Dink is 11 mos old and only like 8 or 9 lbs so far.  I'm beginning to think he's a toy rattie.

under photos:ratties (which is this forum we're in now)  type in whatever you want in the body and click on browse (look below)  it pulls up your picture on your computer after you select your pics (you can do 3 at one time) hit submit ~ if it doesn't let you, then your pic is too big, you'll have to resize it ~ I usually resize mine in photobucket.com (copy & paste it into my pictures) and then redo it the above steps and wha-la.

Good luck!  Can't wait to see some pics!

LOL Loved the photos! Bet you never get the "Oh, look at the cute little chihuahua", do you? Many of the members here have problems with folks trying to tell them that they don't have a terrier, that they have a chihuahua.
Oh and what is his name? Other than "Big Boy".

hes a giant decker i guess the other with him is what they call an American Bully (amstaff, bulldog, pitbull mix). when he was a small puppy they would call him a chihuahua but now hes big and i dont see 40 pound chihuahuas anywhere lol but here are more pics of my dogs i took today and there is a pic with him next to a min pin so you can see how much bigger he is.

he's a cutie!
my ratties are Deckers...they're 27 and 31 lbs. I would think that a breeder/petshop would make a big deal about that...there's not all that many Deckers around compared to the other sizes of ratties....but you never know.
