Maybe get a washcloth and rub it.... When you get dirt in your eye, it helps to rub the eyelid, and your eye producs a liquid that makes it come right out! Try it!

Probably just soap in the eyes. Flush them with cool water. I try to avoid washing around the eyes and actually hold my dogs' ears shut when bathing to avoid getting soap or just water in them. Water in the ears will bring on ear infections fast! Some folks even plug ears with cotton balls soaked with mineral or baby oil, but I find they often fall out before we're done. So when rinsing the dog off, I just sort of hold the ears closed, tilt the head back a bit, and try to see to it soapy water does not roll forward into eyes & ears. I'll admit though, it's much harder to do this with ratties than my many dachshunds. LOL.

WELL I AM GOING TO TAKE MY CHI TO THE VET BECAUSE HIS EYE IS STILL BOTHERING HIM AND IT HAS SOME YUCK COMING OUT OF IT RIGHT NOW. AND THE LIGHT BOTHERS HIM SO I TRY TO STAY IN THE DARK AND NOT TURN ON ANY LIGHTS.

Oh no, lot us know how everything works out. I wonder if he may have scratched his eye at some point. Maybe not during bath time but some time that day.

Poor baby, let us know what the vet says.Hopefully it's just a little soap and nothing serious.
