Ok, here's the background. My mom was a little older when she had me, so by the time I was old enough to learn how to bake all the fancy christmas goodies, she was worn out of doing them, and we didn't do much. I always made the pretzels with the almond bark with my aunt, but that was about all. (not that I had a bad childhood or anything, just something i missed out on)

This year is my first year with my own home, and my own kitchen. So low and behold, I went on a mission to make all the christmas goodies I could think of. I made cut out cookies, and my mom's old spiral cookie recipe. My aunt sent down the stuff for the pretzels so I could do that, and I wanted to make fudge.

I went to the grocery store to get the things I needed, and while I was trying to figure out if i needed milk chocolate or semi sweet chips, I saw the white chocolate chips. So instead of the 2 batches I intended to make, I am making 4. 2 chocolate, one with walnuts, one without nuts. 2 white chocolate, one with pecans, one without nuts.

I just made the first batch of white chocolate, and i licked the spoon and it's REALLY good.

The first batch of chocolate didn't turn out too well, I guess I cooked it too long. Oh, and I should mention, This is a recipe for fudge in the microwave. It's awesome.

I am, I love Christmas. Unfortunately I have to go to work later, but that won't even be too bad. I like my job, and if we get the snow we're supposed to it won't be too busy. Last storm we had, I worked 3 jobs at the same time.

I always make candy at Christmas. I haven't done it yet this year, but I will in the next week or so. I make chocolate covered cherries, haystacks, fudge (in the microwave too LOL), and I usually try to make a few troufles for teachers and stuff. I am going to get a gingerbread house to make with the boys today...if they can stop fighting long enough to do it.
