When we got Izzy the breeder said all the puppies ears will stand up at some point.  Well Izzy's are standing and have been for a while.  My father-inlaw's pup sams ears just fold over.  Is that as far as they will stand or will hers eventually stand all the way?

It just depends. Rattie ears have a mind of their own. At least my Julia's ears do.hehe One day they are both up, the next day they are both down, one day one will be up and the other down at the same time! Caesar's ears are always up!

Ratties ears can either be erect or buttoned (floppy) They are both acceptable. They have until 1 year to decide based on UKC, but they seem to do what they want, when they want!!

Katie's ears have done it all. Up, down, one up, one down -- now both are pretty much up, unless she's sleepy, tired, or trying to impress her daddy (he likes them buttoned!) BTW, Katie will be two in October.

Katie sure is a pretty girl, Jan. Love your avatar pic.  To original poster, as you can see by my avatar pic of Button, with regards to ears, "Ya get what ya get!"

Amos's ear are pretty much always up, unless he is in trouble. Then he slicks them back and down. But I have seen full grown rat terriers with droopy ears
