Hello everyone!

I actually came across this forum when my family and I got our first rat terrier Nala at around 10 weeksold, she is now 4 months old. I LOVED the site, but never really thought about joining (crazy right?) and now we have gotten ANOTHER rattie, his name is Kovu, and he is only about 10 or 9 weeks old. Just wanted to introduce Nala and Kovu to you and I'm looking forward to getting to know everyone on this forum.  I love looking at everyone's rattie pics, so here are some of my own

sorry if they're big!

Here's my Nala (4 months)

Kovu (9/10 weeks)

Meeting for the first time

Hi---glad you decided to join us!

Go to the picture forums and start a new thread, and there are 3 "browse" buttons where you can add 3 photos from your computer.  Just make sure they are less than 150 kb each (I think that's the right number) and the ending is .jpg (lower case, not UPPER CASE)

Thanks Paul for the tip, but I think i found out how to put up pictures!
Here goes round 2,

Kovu

Nala

Both of them

Also I have a quick question, when we first brought Kovu home, Nala went crazy! All day, whenever we put the two of them down on the grass together Nala is the biggest bully. Kovu will be walking around, minding his own buisiness and Nala will run up to him, "slap" him, run away, scratch at his back, run away, nibble his ear, run away and the same thing over and over. Kovu tries to be a big tough guy and scratch/nibble/slap her back, but he's just too small. Is this going to go on for a while? Because I don't want Nala to accidently hurt him. Any suggestions on how to stop this? Thanks again, and hope you enjoy the pictures!

They're gorgeous ratties!
Mine play rough sometimes but never really hurt each other. I would suspect the older one is asserting his dominence over the "newcomer".

I think it has to do with the older one wanting to play and asserting domiance at the same time.  Rosie did something similar when we got the ratties.  She didn't hurt them, but I just watched them closely the first week or so, and stopped Rosie any time I felt she was getting too rough.  They still play with Rosie, but I keep them from getting carried away.  I think once the establish who the alpha is, it will be fine.

They are such cute dogs, by the way!    How big are they?

Thanks everyone! Also, Nala is about 7 or 8 pounds? Kovu is probably 2 pounds. Maybe less! He really is tiny.

Welcome. Your ratties are adorable! Yeah, when I brought Niko home, Rita went crazy and a little obsessive for a while.
