Hello all! I am new to this site. Just heard about this site from a myspace friend of the dogs! So thank you Patsy if you read this. I have been an owner of Rat Terriers now for 3 years. I have three total. Truman, Penny, and Zorro. Zorro is brand new to the home now for just one week. He is Penny's true brother from the same litter. His owner decided she wanted to sell him because he was breeding too big and the females would have to get c-sections! "He is a little bit big",  ! I am having little issues with him warming up to other people. He is very, very insecure and growls under his breath or barks at them. He really wants to go up to them and try but he just shakes so bad! I was told when he was at one of his dog shows that a young kid stomped at him and shook a flashlight at him and made some kind of mean sound. And ever since the poor guy has "trust issues". So I am trying to introduce him a little at a time to people around us. Hopefully he starts to warm up better.

Welcome to the site. Post pictures of your ratties when you get a chance!
I'm sure with time Zorro will warm up when he realizes he can trust you and everyone in your home. That's horrible that the kid scared him like that.
