Hello Everybody... first of all I would like to say this is an awesome board!!

I have a rattie that is 9 months and female.

I got her about 3 weeks ago, and the day that I brought her home her vagina started to bleed kind of spotty like, and her outer lips are very swelled up. 

Is this normal? 

I have a feeling that she is in heat, although having other dogs... the heat period only lasted for about 21 days. Is a ratty's heat period longer, shorter, or the same as any other dog?

Obviously she has not ever had any offspring, and she has not been spade?

Any suggestions are greatly appreactiated...
