Jackson gets a wild hair up his butt from time to time and does these insanely fast laps around the bedroom, then spins (not slow circles like when he's getting ready to lay down), and sprawls out on the floor. Anyone else have a little speed-racer??

Yep.... Shadow runs from my bed, jumps down and runs down stairs, then back up again and jumps on my bed. He does this several times... Like a bullet or something... when he is tired... he will lay down beside me and take a nap... after this sometimes he softly snores. I have to laugh at him, but not too loud cause I don't want to wake him. When he sleeps his ears are up, which I wonder about cause they seldom are up unless he is eatting.

jackson's ears are pretty much always up, it's a bummer too because he looks soooo cute when they are floppy!

Mine used to run the laps around for 4 adjoining rooms in the main part of the house. But it has become harder now, since putting in hardwood floors. LOL They can't take the turns well anymore. LOL So for now, the Rattie500 is relegated to the back yard exclusively. They were at it out there after their walk this morning!

yes Trixi definitly does this! Now that were in a condo that is more than double the size of the apartment and it has an open living room/dining room/kitchen...she runs in circles and every once in a while willl jump on the bed in the other room...i guess when shes feeling particularly energized! lol...they crack me up!

yes i have a rattie racer too!! he used to run in the house sometimes but since he knocks stuff down, and almost tripped my mom who uses a cane... he has been banned to the outside... i think its funny when he does it cause it looks like he gonna go in the house and then breaks out with these super laps....

~*~ puppy leave that alone!!! ~*~

Yep, I have 2 that do the Rattie 500...I don't know what it's like with just one, but the 2 of them are insane! I swear they don't even know where they are going when they race around the house, but it always ends up with one "catching" the other...and then wrestling until they collapse!

I think that's a part of the breed. We call it the rattie 500 and I bet if you asked anyone on the forum, odds are pretty good their pup does this too. We have a big house and 29 acres for Shiloh to run in and she does it too, even with that much space to run in, I think there's something pleasureable about the around and around thing...

Yes!! We have 4 Rattie's going at!! They play tag at 90 miles an hour through the house. The sofa is "base". Who ever gets to "Base" first barks at the others and eggs them on! It is hilliarious, and loud>just watch your feet.  they have no mercy
