My husband and oldest son, Seamus (he's 17) went to Border's at 7:00 am Friday morning to be 5th in line to receive our line bracelets. We returned at 9:00 pm for the events. All my kids had a great time with the games, activities and costume contest; my younger two were Ron Weasley (we spray painted Sam's (12) hair red! and Liam (10) was Harry Potter (he has naturally dark messy hair and green eyes even).
Seamus and I were in our D.A. shirt (Dumbledore's Army).
It was PACKED and we had quite an experience. We'd never done this midnight madness thing before because my kids were too young to be out that late before.
We were about the 20th people, at 12:01 am (we all did the countdown- loud!) to get our books and free poster and push our way out of there!
My oldest is reading it on his own, and is already two thirds done. I'm reading aloud to the younger two, so we've only gotten a third of the way through.
We are enjoying it. Anxious to know what happens, but savoring every word and trying to make it last too!
I think they will remember this always as a very happy memory of doing something so fun and historic! I know I will.

We also went to get my book at the release party. We were 47th in line. Yet we made it out of there in like a half hour. I read a couple chapters that night. All the next morning, and ALL day sunday to finish it last night. It's an AMAZING. I won't give anything away for you, but be prepared for a range of emotions. I'm glad someone else enjoys the books too.

I'm so out of touch. I've never read a Harry Potter book or seen a Harry Potter movie. I've got to catch up with the times!

Been offline for a while but I got the 7th book at 12:01am on the release date as well. Stayed up all night/day until I finished it! Not as I expected but can't really say without giving stuff out!

I had pre ordered it from Amazon and stayed up all night to finish it since I just couldnt put it down. It did end way differently than I thought it was strange I have never read a book that ends kind of how i pictured it.
