Lol i know this has been  talked about extensively but as i have recently been informed Purina puppy chow is not the best food i can give my puppy, therefore after seeking advice form yall i decided to buy a new food. I went to Walmart nothing there that yall recomended, Went to petsmart and i didnt see any Natural balance there, But i did find Nutro max for puppys.

I have read that a few of you (i think) use this brand, so just to make sure before i start introducing it is this food decent?

Here are a couple of sites with good info on the qualities of various foods. If you visit the manufacturers websites they often have store finders where you can see who in your area carries that brand. Often you will find the higher quality foods at independent pet supply stores and feed/farm supply stores.

I've had Mic on a couple different foods (including Nutro Max), but after doing a lot of research, and with a lot of help from people on this site... I've decided that Innova EVO is the best food for him. He does have a few allergies though, which is why we went with the EVO. I think everybody just has to do the research and decide for themselves... but this site is a great place to start!

well i looked at nutro compared to Purina puppy chow and the only thing they have in common is corn meal. but nutro doesnt have chicken by products or colouring etc so i think it is a little better

When I fed Nutro - I used the Lamb and Rice Meal Formula. No corn in it for sure. Now I am feeding the Natural Balance Ultra Premium. I get it at a Pet Supplies Plus as we do not have a PetSmart or PetCo nearby.

Same with me - when I fed Nutro it was the Lamb & Rice Nutro Choice - NO corn in it. The corn is just a cheap filler, also some dogs are allergic to corn.

Macie and Kami love their natural balance ultra premium.... I still have to add a little water to Kami's food tho as she is only 6 weeks and has some trouble chewing the hard stuff! I got a free sample of the sweet potato and fish natural balance and Macie REALLY seemed to love that so I might switch to that when her bag is done..
