So, I called to see when I'm on the schedule for the day --- number 4 of 7 - right smack dab in the middle of the day   So much for my request to be first.  I told the guy I had requested first, as they had cancelled on me twice and I had wasted two day -- he says they do the schedule geographically, not by request.  I told him I would buy my next mower or appliance based on geography - and Sears wasn't geographically the closest!  He didn't care.

Fortunately, Randy will be coming home around noon, so I can get my errands done and he can deal with the lawn mower!

(No wonder I'm so crabby all the time)!

Is your mower still under warrenty? If not, there are independent mower repair places all over. We use a place called Mower Medic in a town near us. These are for our professional mowers.

No, it's not under warranty -- but at least when Sears comes out, it's only out of commission for a couple of hours.  If we take it somewhere, they will keep it and right now everyone is so busy.  I am having to cut grass a couple of times a week, so just can't be without it.  I will get an earlier start next year and take it in before grass cutting season (well, at least I will try!)

Yeah, they recommend bringing in your mower for maintenance and blade sharpening in the off season. Probably very few people do that.

Yes they did! And it was a different guy from usual and I just finished cutting grass and the lawn mower cuts better than I think it ever has. I was having problems with it cutting unevenly and the mower deck was not even! He even had me get on it (I was back before he was finished) and gave me some mower pointers!!!
