I don't know about French but some German women don't (I lived there for a few years). And it's really odd to see a beautiful woman lift her arm and there's all this hair there!

That's how you can tell the bride at a french wedding -- she's the one with the braided armpits ! LOL

Hubby and I were watching the HBO show Deadwood on DVD the other night. This one character, Trixie, lifts her skirts to get her little gun out of her boot, and she had really hairy legs! I guess the actress was trying to be historically correct, but I don't see how she could stand not shaving her legs. Also, on that show, the saloon girls have hairy armpits.

Well, I can speak for the Germans I knew - they were extremely clean. Now, these weren't the local peasants but upper middle class and upper class people. I mean these women could get on a horse in immaculate expensive riding breeches, boots and sweater, with hair done, makeup on and nails perfect....go out and gallop across the fields or whatever, and still look immaculate. AND be excellent riders.

It's called real class!

I was talking more about how people lived way back when in the old West.  I'm sure most people today with indoor plumbing are clean, no matter what country they live in.

NOPE!!  I'm a TRUE Avon lady!!  It drives Kevin nuts sometimes!!  When we had our cookout, I put books out on all the tables, he thought I was crazy...I ended up with about $150.00 in orders and a customer that orders EVERY campaign!!  (she called and placed her order for this campaign Sunday, and called yesterday to place an order for the next campaign too!!...plus she has ordered a custom jewelry set from me!)

I had a friend in middle school who had very hairy legs.  Her mom said she couldn't start shaving them until she was 15!  The hairs would poke through her tights and pantyhose.  She was sooooo embarassed.

I guess I was lucky to have an older sister who paved the way for me, or tired out our parents so they just didn't care any more.    Lordy, our daddy didn't want us wearing make up or having long fingernails or getting our ears pierced or wearing short skirts...the list could go on and on.

What is is with Algebra teachers?!  Mine didn't have hairy legs, but I would be distracted by her triceps skin flapping around as she wrote on the chalk board.

I know ... I always say I HATE my "teachers" arms. I had one of those teachers just like Pam had and I'll never forget it. Time to get back on the Total Gym and get rid of it I think. Maybe.

Well now that we are on the subject of strange teachers..
My 3rd grade teacher passed gas regularly, she HAD A CAN OF LYSOL SPRAY sitting on her desk at all times !
Her name was Mrs. Griffith
Now why on earth do I remember this? can't remember what happened 2 days ago, but this sticks in my mind...

I'm starting to develop the arm wings too.  Time to get out the hand weights and exercise.  My hubby calls them speckled trouts, when he sees them on other women with freckles that is.
