| Ok.. so i'm feeding my ratties Royal Canin and my bulldog and lab pedigree (can you believe neither of them will touch royal canin!) and I wanted to see if anyone has heard anything bad about them (as far as them being tainted). Also, I need to know what canned food is safe - cali takes her immugen and canine basic nutrition mixed in soft food and will soon start seacure and colistrum(sp) and i need a SAFE canned food to use but i'm so freaked out with all the warnings i'm not sure what to use. I cant seem to find CANNED royal canin anywhere although i know it exists... thanks for your help |

| You could probably find green beef tripe in your area, either Solid Gold or Tripett brands. You probably can't get any safer than that.
Sorry, there isn't a single nice thing I can say about Pedigree. Unfortunately, among the nasty things in it is stuff that makes it taste good to dogs. |

I top my "kids" Canidae kibble with canned at dinnertime. I'm using Chicken Soup canned right now: http://www.chickensoupforthepetloverssoul.com/
They are saying they have no foods recalled dry or canned, and do not use Wheat, Wheat Gluton or Rice Protein concentrate in any of their foods.
Hmmm... but who knows what ingredients could be next |

The scary part is that allegedly the rice protein wasn't listed in the ingredients in the Natural Balance, so even if you read the ingredients to make an informed decision, you could still be feeding bad food. I think they had just started using it and the bags hadn't yet reflected that fact.
Changing the ingredients without first letting people know is bs. Most people that feed venison dog food do so because of allergies and need to know if the formula is being changed. |

I was on other sites where people showed that NB updated the online ingredients list hours AFTER the recall news came out. I guess it really makes no difference since rice protein concentrate isn't a bad ingredient, it just makes them look shady.(to me at least) |

| Oh, I see. Well, I don't know any company that can trusted 100%. Their FAQS page does say that the rice proteint concentrate was a recently added ingredient so maybe they just hadn't updated their web page yet with the new ingredient list. |
